    Process Introduction

Investment casting is one of the most sophisticated casting processes. While producing components with intricate geometries, it also achieves exceptionally high dimensional accuracy and superior surface quality. Investment casting can be used to manufacture products from nearly all metallic materials, thereby meeting the demands of a wide range of end-market applications. Investment casting is a metal-forming process in which a ceramic refractory material is coated onto the surface of a wax pattern to create a ceramic mold. After the ceramic mold has been formed, it undergoes drying and then the wax pattern is melted out, leaving behind a mold shell. Molten metal is subsequently poured into this ceramic mold shell; once the metal has solidified, the mold shell is removed, yielding the final cast part. Some investment-cast parts require further machining after casting. The investment casting process is typically employed for manufacturing components with complex shapes and stringent requirements for dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

    Equipment

Producing investment castings with high complexity and precision requires high-quality equipment that can achieve tight tolerances and repeatable accuracy. At the same time, the production equipment and manufacturing processes must be capable of handling large volumes of products quickly and continuously without compromising product quality. At Haosen Precision Casting, we employ more advanced technologies and equipment at every stage of the investment casting process. Mold design, wax injection, wax pattern assembly, shell preparation, pouring, heat treatment, and testing are all carried out by our highly skilled and experienced team.

    Wax pressing

Haosen Precision Casting is equipped with 19 fully automatic and semi-automatic wax injection machines. Among these, there are 11 8T dual-station wax injectors, 1 10T wax injector, 1 16T wax injector, 3 25T wax injectors, 1 30T wax injector, 1 50T wax injector, and 1 80T wax injector, which can meet the molding requirements for products of various sizes.

    Shell making

Haosen Precision Casting has two shell-making production lines: a manual shell-making line and an automated shell-making line. The automated shell-making line is equipped with a state-of-the-art three-head, six-arm dipping-and-spraying sand-coating machine that is advanced domestically. This automated production process eliminates the quality variations in mold shells that can occur during manual operations, enhances the stability of the shell-making process, and reduces the physical workload for workers.

    Melting and Casting

We have 17 medium-frequency melting furnaces dedicated to the production of steel castings. In addition, we are equipped with two vacuum induction melting furnaces: a single-chamber vacuum furnace with a capacity of 25 kg and a three-chamber vacuum furnace with capacities of 50/100 kg. These vacuum induction melting furnaces can produce nickel-based and cobalt-based investment castings with an equiaxial solidification structure, weighing from 0.03 to 50 kg.

    Materials

We are capable of meeting the requirements of various material standards, including ASTM, AISI, DIN, EN, ISO, and GB. We have the capability to cast hundreds of ferrous and non-ferrous alloy materials, such as stainless steel, copper alloys, and high-temperature alloys.

    Ability

We have casting capabilities for over a hundred types of ferrous and non-ferrous alloy materials, including stainless steel, alloy steel, copper alloys, and high-temperature alloys. Our products meet the requirements of various material standards such as ASTM, AISI, DIN, EN, ISO, and GB, and we can also accommodate customers’ specific material requirements. We primarily manufacture investment castings with tight dimensional tolerances and complex geometries, with individual weights ranging from a few grams to 100 kilograms.

    3D printing technology

3D printing technology offers a cost-effective solution for rapid prototyping and the production of small-batch parts. At Haosen, we use 3D printing to develop complex investment castings whose designs are still being refined or that have tight delivery deadlines. Since 3D printing eliminates the need for mold making, it accelerates the design and validation of casting processes, thereby shortening the overall product development cycle.
